New students applying for Workforce funding can now get help with the process of becoming a Highline student.
Morning orientation sessions will be 9 a.m. to noon Thursdays. Participants will:
- apply to Highline online
- complete the school’s CORE orientation
- prepare for the Compass test.
Through Aug. 21, sessions are in Building 29, Room 308.
After the morning session, students will attend the Workforce afternoon orientation to apply for funding. The afternoon orientation is 1 p.m. – 3 p.m. Thursdays in Building 10, Room 103.
There will be no orientation July 17.

New and returning Workforce and WorkFirst students who need help deciding which classes to take for fall can attend a Pre-Advising session to prepare for class enrollment.
The session runs 9:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Mondays (except holidays) in Building 10, Room 207. Robyn Richins, Workforce/ WorkFirst advisor, facilitates.

Deanna Costello came to Workforce Education Services after she was laid off from her job as an office associate at JCPenney in April 2013. She’d worked at the company for 24 years.
